I dread to think where I would be if I’d really believed those people who put me down, who said I was fooling myself if I thought that I was someone who would become a published writer (a boyfriend’s mother – I’d love to meet her now!) Instead I believed the agent who wrote on the bottom of a rejected idea ‘Your work is of a publishable quality’ – that’s all I needed to keep going. You have the best chance of making your dreams come true if you really work at it (although your dreams do have to be kind of realistic – I doubt the dream about me becoming the next Mrs Jason Momoa is going to manifest). But, my biggest dream was to be a successful novelist and I made it happen and I couldn’t be happier! Here’s the article – hope it inspires you!
