I have some lovely friends in the UK that have books published over there and if you like a ‘UK Feel’ book, then these are GREAT.

AJ Pearce’s  4th book in her ‘Miss Lake’ series has just gone over to America. The first book – Dear Mrs Bird – was given to me as a present just before I went on holiday a few years ago and I’d heard about it as it was very famous over here. I didn’t think it was my sort of book. It was about a young woman who works in a magazine company during the war who starts to answer the agony aunt’s (Mrs Bird’s) letters as she doesn’t think some of the desperate people who write in are being given good advice. Oh MY! What a breath of fresh air this book was. Funny and charming and like aloe vera for the soul. I couldn’t WAIT to get the next book in the series. SO, if you haven’t read them, do give them a shot. You’ll probably get the links from AJ’s website. We have since become firm friends and her books are just her in paper form – totally delightful!

Next we have my old friend Jane Costello (who also writes as Catherine Isaac). Her book ‘It’s Getting Hot in Here’ is doing really well in the States, she’s just come back from a tour over there (lucky thing!) If you like a handsome New Yorker, an ‘enemies to friends’ romance and throw in the peri-menopause and two divorces… then this is the book for you!

Then we have Debbie Johnson (no relation but we pretend we’re sisters). Deb is from Liverpool and her books are GREAT. If you follow this link you can read some sample chapters of ‘Statistically Speaking’ but take my recommendation and buy buy BUY! I was totally in bits from the off.

L.H. Stacey is a crime writer from Yorkshire – you may want to check out her books as she has quite the following over there in the US. This is Lynda’s latest.

Hope you enjoy these books if you read them!!!
